TRACEY DAVIS HISTORY
Tracey was born in Longreach, (a town in central western Queensland ) and grew up on a Blackall sheep
and cattle property with her Dad ( Malcolm Barnfield ) and Mum ( Carmel ), and is one of six children.
She has four sisters ( Jennifer, Sharon, Anne - Maree and Carmel and brother Danny ) who were all
home schooled by their Mum. During, and after home schooling, Tracey worked on the property with
her Dad, where horses, became a big part of her life, with handling , teaching young horses, and
training her
show ponies and horses in dressage and hacking, and also every day work on the
property as well as
contract mustering on other places.
FAMILY BAND
Tracey started in her teens, as a Bass guitarist and singer in her family band ( New Image ),
with her Dad and Mum, and sisters Jennifer, and Sharon and cousin Mary , playing every
week-end, all over Queensland, playing old time dancing , rock, country and pop music.
They also played for ( THE STOCKMAN'S HALL OF FAME and THE DIAMOND SHEARS BALLS )
held in Longreach each year.
FESTIVALS
After their family band finished, Tracey continued her musical career
( winning awards at festivals ) and various bands followed , playing from Charters Towers to Rockhampton.
MARRIED AND CHILDREN
Tracey and Rob are proud parents of teenage twin boys Robert and Dylan,
who are also musical, and may follow in their Mum and Dad's footsteps.
Tracey is kept very busy like all Mums, with home life, sport, and music.
THE BUSHFIRE BAND
In 2002, Tracey became a founding member of the BUSHFIRE band playing Bass Guitar and Vocals, along with Rob Davis on Banjo and Vocals , Dave Luxmoore on Vocals, Acoustic Guitar, Mandolin, Fiddle and Mouth Harp. Tracey and Rob and Dave all living in the beautiful Gold Coast Hinterland and have been performing together at local and interstate gigs for the last 9ears playing for - Bush Dances, Corporate and Private gigs, Bluegrass, Folk, Irish, and Country Music Festivals and have become a very popular, entertaining band. BUSHFIRE also performs at the REDLANDS BLUEGRASS CONVENTION , HARRIETVILLE BLUEGRASS & OLD TIME MUSIC FESTIVAL , VICTORIA ,TAMWORTH COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL (DAVIDSON BROS. BLUEGRASS BREAKFAST , LINDSAY BUTLER AUDITORIUM to name a few )
Tracey also performs with her youngest sister Carmel Barnfield, at gigs which has put her on stage at the SUNCORP STADIUM Brisbane, BRONCOS private gigs and TWIN TOWNS AUDITORIUM with Denis Knight .
Tracey has also played Bass with Fiddle In The Middle.
SONG WRITING
Tracey is nowfocused on her song writing, producing songs about her life on the land, her love and passion for music and animals, appreciating what you have, family and friends, about love and facing the challenges that come our way and loving every minute of life. Tracey and co-writer Dave Luxmoore, put together, 11 songs for her first original album IT'S HOT.
2007/2008 RECORDING
Tracey, Dave and Rob started recording , 11 of the original songs in their BLUEGRASS RIDGE recording studios at Canungra which was very exciting for Tracey to have written, and helped record , produced ,edited and arranged all songs on IT'S HOT album.
2009
Tracey Davis,Dave Luxmoore, Rob Davis and Phil Eizenberg from the Bushfire Band came a close 2nd to Craig Morrison Little Cowboys , in the Tooheys New Country Music Challenge Band Search , at the Family Hotel on the 19th Jan at theTamworth Country Music Festival 2009, co-organised by Jim Guider.
Tracey Davis & Bushfire were selected in the final six bands, coming from all over Australia. Tracey proudly sang to the judges ,her original songs ( co-written with Dave Luxmoore ) from Tracey's latest CD ( IT'S HOT ) & Rob, Dave & Phil topped the set off with catchy bluegrass songs .
Tracey Davis & Bushfire are very proud to receive the runner up prize of $500 from Tooheys , an EV microphone package and promotional support packages from The Country Music Bulletin and Musicians Headquarters.
Tracey said " All four members of TRACEY DAVIS & BUSHFIRE have been performing most of their lives and look forward to many more years doing what they love to do .
Tracey & Bushfire busked outside the Regent Theatre every day from the 19th to the 25th Jan and they all agree it was a rewarding experience meeting lots of new people. They also played at the Peoples Choice Awards, Andrew Clermont's Supper Club a couple of times , main stage Peel St , a spot with Simply Bushed & had lots of fun jamming with many musos who dropped in and played while busking.
